Irene is the matriarch behind the Darwin institution, Parap Fine Foods. Arriving in Darwin from Perth when she was eight, Irene has been providing Darwinians with an array of tasty morsels since 1968. Tonight, Irene rewinds the clock and takes us back to her life as a young woman in Darwin in the mid 1950s and 60s, a time when the Greek Orthodox Church was only half built.

Irene told her story live on Friday 1 December 2017 at SPUN at Darwin Festival themed 'Rewind' where we rewound  back through Darwin’s history to celebrate 60 years of local government, shining a light on the stories that have helped shape this wild, vibrant town into what it is today.
